Global Running Day 2026 was on June 3rd. It’s always on the first Wednesday of June. It is an annual celebration of running that welcomes people of all ages and abilities to get moving. There were several events in our territory; some were local group runs from the local running store, and others were races put on by local running stores.
What is Global Running Day?
Global Running Day began in the United States in 2009 as National Running Day and later expanded into a global event. Millions of people participate by:
- Going for a run, jog, or walk-run
- Joining community races or group runs
- Setting personal fitness goals
- Sharing their runs on social media
- Encouraging others to be active
The day promotes the physical and mental health benefits of running, including improved cardiovascular fitness, stress reduction, and overall well-being.
Our team was spread across the Southeast, representing several leading brands at events in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Throughout the day, we introduced runners to products from Tailwind, Topo Athletic, and OOFOS and raffled off premium socks from Feetures.
Because Global Running Day is one of the biggest celebrations in the running community, our team is in exceptionally high demand. As a result, many specialty running retailers reserve our event support six to eight months in advance. In fact, attending Global Running Day has become an annual tradition with many of our retail partners.
If you’re already planning events for 2027, be sure to reach out to your sales representative early to secure your preferred date.
Global Running Day 2026 Activations
Across the Southeast, our team celebrated Global Running Day by representing Topo Athletic, Nathan, Tailwind Nutrition, and Feetures at events hosted by specialty running retailers and outdoor stores.
In North Carolina, we partnered with Pace Yourself Run Company, where runners could experience products from Topo Athletic, Nathan, Tailwind Nutrition, and Feetures. Meanwhile, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, we hosted product demos featuring Topo Athletic and OOFOS footwear at Mountain High Outfitters locations, while runners fueled up and recovered with Tailwind Nutrition samples.
Further east, Fleet Feet Augusta in Georgia hosted its annual Big Run 5K and Kids 1-Miler, attracting more than 600 runners. As an added bonus, race registration included admission to the local minor league baseball game following the event. Before the race, participants sampled Tailwind Nutrition to fuel their run, and afterward, many replenished their electrolytes during recovery.
Meanwhile, in Atlanta, Georgia, we represented Feetures, Tailwind Nutrition, and OOFOS at the Big Peach Running Co. Global Running Day celebration held at a local park. Finally, in Greenville, South Carolina, we partnered with Run In for a community group run featuring one of the day’s most creative activations. This included an ice sculpture sponsored by Feetures and Tailwind Nutrition. Complete with actual Feetures socks and Tailwind Nutrition packets frozen inside, it quickly became one of the most memorable and unique displays of Global Running Day 2026.
